Finding Confidence After a Hard Season

Confidence is not only a feeling
Confidence is often described as something you either have or do not have. In practice, it is also built through experience: noticing that you can act, recover, and choose again.
After a difficult season, those experiences may feel harder to access.
Start with trust
One way to rebuild confidence is to practise keeping small promises to yourself. Choose actions that are realistic enough to complete, then notice the evidence that you followed through.
This helps shift confidence from a performance into a relationship with yourself.
Be careful with comparison
When you are rebuilding, comparison can make every step feel too small. Someone else's pace is not a reliable measure of your recovery.
Counselling can help you understand the beliefs that have weakened your confidence and experiment with more compassionate ways to relate to yourself.
