Therapy When You Feel Stuck

Stuckness can have meaning
When people feel stuck, they often blame themselves for not trying hard enough. Sometimes the real issue is not effort, but an internal conflict that has not been understood.
One part of you may want change. Another part may fear what change will cost.
Pressure can make it harder
Shame is rarely a good long-term motivator. It may produce short bursts of action, but it often leaves people more exhausted and more critical of themselves.
Gentle honesty tends to be more useful than harsh pressure.
Start with what is happening now
Counselling can help you explore what keeps the stuckness in place: fear, grief, burnout, old beliefs, or a lack of support. From there, movement can become more realistic.
